As this year winds down, we are turning our attention to the 11th Annual Christmas for Kids. The Christmas for Kids activity is one of our favorite days of the year! We gather together kids and their mentors from across northern Colorado to celebrate the holidays. We start with a shopping spree, where youth get a donated gift card and the opportunity to buy gifts for their loved ones. They work with their mentors to budget their funds to maximize the gifts they are able to purchase, even factoring taxes to stay within budget. Then, the whole group heads to an after party with breakfast and gift wrapping. The activity brings together the Partners community for a morning of lifeskill-building, socializing, and fun–all elements that are also key to our mentoring mission.
In addition to this activity, we also hold our Christmas for Kids Campaign, which is our year-end giving campaign. This campaign is one of our major fundraisers of the year, and this year we aim to raise $150,000, which supports 100 youth in the program. In 2018, we will serve a record number of northern Colorado youth–500 local kids who are benefiting from the support of role models, extra school support, and group activities. We aim to continue providing mentoring services to as many youth as possible, and we need the support of the community to do so. Our Christmas for Kids campaign provides donors with a great opportunity to give the gift of mentoring during the holiday season.
