Kim Johnson, Monthly Donor
- Can you share a little about yourself?
I have been an Account Manager at Sterling Volunteers for the last 5 and a half years working with our enterprise level accounts. Though I am originally a Texan, I have called Fort Collins home for the last 12 years. I have a wonderful husband named Jake, 17 year old stepdaughter entering her senior year, and 3 year old daughter who is full of sass and spunk. I have recently developed a budding passion for photography and I am constantly on the lookout for cool new spots around town.
- How are you involved with Partners Mentoring Youth?
I became involved with Partners in 2014 when I attended my first Party for Partners. In 2018, I had the opportunity to join the Board of Directors and currently serve as the Incoming Chair.
- Why do you believe in investing in youth mentoring?
I was very lucky in my life to have a lot of adults in my life who were invested in my future. When I was in college I joined a reading tutoring program at a few inner city schools in Houston. I was given the opportunity to work in two schools–one that had a mentoring program and one that did not. It was clear that the kids who had access to mentors were doing better in school and were better able to establish future goals.
- What made you want to sign up as a monthly donor?
As a busy working mom, I need a way to give that requires as little work as possible. Being a monthly donor is really the perfect solution.
- How has your experience with monthly giving been so far?
It has been amazing! It was so quick and easy to setup and I love that it is not another thing on my to do list. Monthly giving has saved me time while allowing me to support one of my favorite causes!
